Big Head Todd and The Monsters Morrison Concert reviews
Buddy Guy's still got it
Excellent concert! A friend and I saw this concert; he's a huge Big Head Todd and The Monsters fan, but he had never gotten to see him until now in concert. We were a little worried that, at 75, Big Head Todd and The Monsters might be slowing down, but we quickly figured out that is _not_ a problem yet. He's still energetic, has no problems getting around, and best of all, he can still play and sing as well as ever.
Jonny Lang opened for him. He wasn't as good as Big Head Todd and The Monsters, of course, but he was definitely very good -- and he's still in his very early 30s. My friend had seen him early in his career, probably a decade ago or more, and he said he's gotten even better over the years.
Big Head Todd and The Monsters also brought out a 13-year-old kid, Quinn Sullivan, who is apparently a youtube sensation (and Big Head Todd and The Monsters found out about him 5 years ago), but I hadn't heard of him. For 13 -- heck, at any age -- he's amazing. He can play fast, he can play slow ("with feelin'"), and although his voice hasn't changed much yet, he can sing really well, too. As Big Head Todd and The Monsters pointed out, "Watch out, Justin Bieber." Absolutely no contest there!
